Hands-free studio control

Stop running back to the keyboard

DAW Buddy listens for your wake word and drives your DAW for you. Say “Hey DAW Buddy, press record” from the mic and the take starts rolling. Or tap it from your phone. No more killing takes to walk across the room.

Heard

“Hey DAW Buddy · press record”

→ Record armed · take rolling

What DAW Buddy is

A voice and phone controller for the DAW you already use. It turns spoken commands into standard MIDI messages your DAW already understands, so recording alone stops being a two-person job.

01

Wake word, then command

Nothing fires until you say your wake word — "Hey DAW Buddy". Then just talk: press record, stop, back to start, next track, set tempo.

02

Phone remote

Pair your phone with a code and tap transport, arm, mute, solo and tempo from the booth. Your laptop stays where it is.

03

Works with your DAW

Logic Pro, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reaper, Studio One, Cubase, Bitwig and Samplitude — with guided, step-by-step setup for each.

04

Real MIDI, no plugins

DAW Buddy speaks standard MIDI over a virtual port. No installers on your session drive, nothing rewriting your projects.

Say it, and it happens

A few of the commands built in. Every one is also a button on the phone remote.

  • press record
  • stop
  • play
  • back to start
  • rewind
  • fast forward
  • next track
  • arm track
  • mute
  • solo
  • undo
  • set tempo

Three steps to hands-free

  1. 1

    Open the port

Create a virtual MIDI port — the setup page walks you through it on Mac and Windows.

  2. 2

    Load the preset

Pick your DAW and DAW Buddy applies the right mapping automatically.

  3. 3

    Arm the mic

Hit the mic, say your wake word, and start cutting takes hands-free.

Keep the mic hot

Set it up once, then run whole sessions without touching the laptop.
